The funny story that I can say about this is I learned it does not mean the same thing as it does in the States.
Jane and I met because she was my property manager for my first property when I moved to England. When I first got here, she said she would call round at 12 p.m. which was fine by me because I was going to go to a carboot sale but would bring my phone with me. I got a call from Jon (we had just started to date) saying Jane was at my house. Call round means they are stopping by. I constantly tell Jane to be careful with using this with Americans but she rarely listens!
