London Eye

The London Eye is one of the most famous things to do in London. The London Eye is on the River Thames and has great views of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, and Canary Wharf. It is worth taking a 'flight' once while you are here. It was built in 2000 for the millennium and is continually decorated for the seasons. The picture you see is from the weekend of the Royal  Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

London Eye is place I can visit again and again. It is one of the best views you will get of London (the other favourite of mine is from the top of St Paul’s Cathedral- but this can be quite challenging for some folks- you must be fit!). The London Eye is an easy way to see London in all its glory.  It doesn’t go very fast so you are able to get a great view of everything and the best time to ride is on a clear day. I have been on the London Eye in the autumn and summer time and either way it’s worth it. It might be better to see the sights on a river tour first and then go on the Eye because you might have a better idea what all the buildings are. Alternatively you can purchase a book that will explain all the buildings you are looking at.

It is best to book online ahead to save money and time and you can often get a great deal for other attractions. Book a fast track ticket and avoid waiting in the lines but also you don't have a confirmed time to have to be there.

Sometimes you can get on the London Eye with 2 for 1 tickets if you go to London by train but this is usually at off-peak times.

All the Best!
