The funny thing about the English language, once you come across something it pops up all over the place.
When I encountered blag, Jane and I were texting about getting to and from the Moonlight Walk we were doing.
You can only buy a day’s ticket for that one day but we were walking overnight so our tickets would be invalid.
So we decide if they wouldn’t accept them I would talk and say I was an American and Jane said we would blag our way out of it.
So blag means to sweet talk or lie your way out!
All the Best!
